Refresh rate changing

Now that I've actually got UT2K3 installed again, I'm running into another
problem. When I go to play the game, for whatever reason the refresh rate
on my monitor goes down to 60hz (my monitor can display its refresh rate).
Most of the time when I go back to the desktop, it's fine again. Sometimes
I have to restart X. I copied over my XF86Config-4 file from my Mandrake
9.0 installation (which worked fine) and the same thing happened. Is this
some conflict with the NVIDIA drivers and glibc 2.3 or the newer kernel or
XFree86 4.3? Has anyone else run into this?

It doesn't just happen with UT2K3, it happens with the Neverwinter Nights
beta too. Someone else on the NWN Linux forum was complaining about the
same thing. As I said, it worked fine yesterday. The only difference now is
Mandrake 9.1 as opposed to 9.0.

Here's what was in the XFree86 log when it was trying to change the
resolution. I never looked at this before since it wasn't an issue. My
desktop is at 1024x768 and I play at 800x600:
