Linux joypad config

Just bought a Logitech Wingman Rumblepad to see if it helps boost my
score ;).  I play under Linux and the game maps my directional pad (on
left side of joystick) as the "look" and the left stick as "move". 
Obviously thats a little difficult ot control.  How do I get the right
stick to be used as the "look" control?

If this has been discussed before, please point me to the archive, if
one exists.  TIA.
