game slowness

Hi all!

Before i attempt a reinstall, i thought i'd ask this on the list....

UT had been performing fine on my system.  All the sudden, like a week
ago, it started running really slow.  Not just in game, but even the
main menu navigation feels slow.

The only thing i can remember that i might have done around that time
was install a couple of the newer 0wnage maps, and maybe installed and
uninstalled some mod.... i can't remember exactly what it was, but it
let you create and get in these little "mini vehicles".

I have since installed the patch thinking it might undo some badness i
have done, but no luck.

Any ideas?
