FWIW the original openal.so, the 2225 patch version and the 2225 tarball 
version all work on my Mandrake 9.1 install with glibc 2.3.1 and a SB 
Audigy using the OSS drivers. The 2225 tarball openal.so allows me to 
actually control the music volume which is A Good Thing in my book.
