With Frank's latest patch, SDL_sound seems to make it through my
(incomplete) set of test cases without noticeable problems. Nice!

The frequency converter will need more work, though. I made a few quick
tests, and the result ranged from almost right to downright unpleasant. I'll
see if I can figure out what goes wrong in the simple cases, but most of it
is just black magic to me.
