PPC Team Arena lockups

I've been trying out Team Arena on my ibook G4, and singleplayer mode
is locking up with the message:

ignoring pre map_restart / outdated client message

it appears to be the result of an overflow somewhere as movement
during the warmup phase or keypresses between levels will set this
off. Sorry that I can't give you more detail than that!
