Hallo Georg,
Solaris 10 was used but it will most likely run/compile fine on Solaris
8/9/10 provided you have recent hardware and hardware OpenGL.
So far, here is what you need:
- XVR-600 graphics card as a -minimum- (XVR-1000 or XVR-1200 recommended).
(NB: q3 OpenGL extensions must be disabled on the XVR-600 because of
display artifacts). I should really open a call with SUN about this..
- I think q3 runs -with- q3 OpenGL extensions enabled on the XVR-1000 but
that's from memory..
- You need something above an US-IIi 650Mhz as a minimum for decent perf,
really... US-IIIi or US-IIICu will be great.
- I have not tested software-only mode on Solaris/Sparc.
ioq3 is most liky a no-go on such platforms as Creator3d, Elite3D,
Creator2d, Sbus, etc...
I'm in the middle of moving between appartments so I cannot be of much
help right now but I'll provide binaries in the not-so-distant future..
Regards,
