[quake3] compiling under ubuntu

I think you don't get what packaging is. In the most cases [1] where a
package is based on a CVS or SVN snapshot, and certainly with the quake3
package being prepared for Debian, you just check out the last SVN
snapshot and copy the debian directory in the top level dir.

$ fakeroot dpkg-buildpackage

should compile the entire thing for you. Next to this, you will not
pollute your GNU/Linux install since *your* compilation is packaged.

[1] That is, if the package is created in a clean and decent fashion.
