I finally figured out how to build a kernel, and I'm running 2.6.9:

[~]# uname -a
Linux tuba 2.6.9 #2 SMP Tue Nov 9 12:07:52 EST 2004 i686 GNU/Linux

But from jstest's point of view it's still the same driver version:

~]# jstest --event /dev/js0
Joystick (Dance Dance ) has 3 axes and 10 buttons. Driver version is 2.1.0.
Testing ... (interrupt to exit)
Event: type 129, time 215708, number 0, value 0
Event: type 129, time 215708, number 1, value 0
Event: type 129, time 215708, number 2, value 0
Event: type 129, time 215708, number 3, value 0
Event: type 129, time 215708, number 4, value 0
Event: type 129, time 215708, number 5, value 0
Event: type 129, time 215708, number 6, value 0
Event: type 129, time 215708, number 7, value 0
Event: type 129, time 215708, number 8, value 0
Event: type 129, time 215708, number 9, value 0
Event: type 130, time 215708, number 0, value 0
Event: type 130, time 215708, number 1, value 0
Event: type 130, time 215708, number 2, value 0

Is that Driver 2.1.0 the one we're talking about, and is that the
version you have? Or is there something besides apt-getting
kernel-sources and building them that would get me a newer version?
