The error means it couldn't run (or maybe just couldn't run) the Linux 
binary. This happens if files are in the wrong location or just missing, 
usually, or maybe they aren't set to be executable.

("files" in this case being the Linux-specific part, not the game data.)

There should be a "preyded" and "preyded.x86" file in the directory 
above "base", both should be executable.
