sound crackles after a while playing

Greetings from germany,

I am running the latest prey-demo client 12072008 with Ubuntu 8.04 and
the sound of prey (sound from other sources is okay) starts crackling
after a while playing (approx. 10 minutes). I can fix this temporarily
by switching from stereo to surround in the options, but it returns
after a while. I have a Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS (SB0350) running with
snd_emu10k1.

I already symlinked the libSDL-1.2.so.0 from the prey directory to the
one in /usr/lib because the sound was stuttering constantly with the
original libSDL that comes with prey.

I also tried to add these lines to the base/preyconfig.cfg but the
problem remains:
seta s_useOpenAL "1"
seta s_libOpenAL "/usr/lib/libopenal.so.0"

Any ideas? Apart from that, the GNU/Linux client works like a charm,
thank you very very much for porting it!
