    i guess you could create a new user and go wild experimienting,
    either eliminating the problem or trying to reproduce it.<br>
    sorry i couldn't help more; actually i'm still a little unsure what
    sort of notification/popup we're talking about (and are there two
    people having the exact same problem?).<br>

Thanks for the suggestions. I may try switching to twm just to be sure, but
I doubt this is openbox related.
