Hello,
where can i find most up-to-date
documentation for openbox, esp. the theme
file syntax?

it seems that what little documentation
comes with openbox install, is old, if not
outdated.
the themes provided are even older.

the wiki has a very nice <a

what is?

i didn't mean it like that; those were just examples from
inconsistent usage i found inside various themercs.
i think the osd.* settings have been added relatively
recently, but they are documented in the wiki.

i since came to the conclusion that the syntax most probably simply
hasn't changed since 2013.

but it's pretty complex, and some aspects are not fully covered in
the wiki; e.g. the parentrelative option: it's pretty powerful (i
can combine inherited & new options, e.g. a pressed button =
"parentrelative sunken"), but also not always apparent from where it
actually inherits.

it would be interesting to create an example theme with as few lines
as possible, using parentrelative and inherited defaults to the
largest extent possible (without defaulting to the inbuilt
defaults).
