i thought about this some more.<br>
it's one possible xplanation that these extra menus (see the later
provided rc.xml) are loaded via some sort of network connection, and
sometimes they don't get loaded when openbox starts.<br>
because openbox loads all menus only once at startup (except
pipemenus).<br>

suspend/resume, but it also happend on my workstation that never suspends.
Anyone have any ideas what may be going on?
