Nope. You can use pixmaps for the buttons' icons (close, iconify, etc), but not for the titlebars.

It should also be said that the pixmaps are actually .xbm files, or
bitmaps - they only support being on or off.&nbsp; Openbox uses it as a mask
to draw the button glyphs, and the theme can specify how the on pixels
and the off pixels are rendered.<br>

Openbox theming is not very well documented yet. Hopefully we'll have some documentation on the matter soon, in the meantime you can try modifing the existing themes.

Gamma's themes (<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="http://gamma.pnosker.com">http://gamma.pnosker.com</a>) are decently sectioned, but
the best one's I've seen for picking stuff up is Cerement's site
(<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="http://www.absinthe182.com">http://www.absinthe182.com</a>).&nbsp; Grab some themes from there and poke
around in theme to get used to the options available.<br>
