I think there a misunderstanding. Possibly because I used the wrong term. 
I was trying to suggest a small bar under the lettet that is used as the 
short cut key. As in the small image at 
https://i.postimg.cc/nLLhfG4H/firefox-view-menu.jpg . It is an image of 
firefox view menu. Note the small bars under the letters T (Toolbars), 
e (Sidebar), Z (Zoom), y (Page style), c (Repair Text Encoding), F (Full Screen).

For me, there are no such bars in openbox menus. Since 
client-list-combined-menu is generated dynamically, is there a way to  
have another shortcut character, other then the first character of the 
entry? As for root-menu, I don't see a small bar under the character that 
is used as the shortcut, even when the shortcut is not the first character 
of the entry.
