[openbox] How to troubleshoot openbox lock-up

Several times a day, openbox locks up on me.

It always seems to happen when I close the last "normal" window on one
particular screen (there's still one pinned, undecorated, stay-on-top
window, along with two hidden tint2 panels). I run three instances of
openbox on three screens, but it's always the "main" instance that
locks up. By "main" one, I mean the one which xinit started and is
waiting for. The other two openbox instances are started via the
"main" openbox's autostart script.

When I do a top, I always see the locked-up openbox using 50% CPU and
X using 100% CPU. Openbox ignores sigterm, and I have to sigkill it
to recover (or terminate the X server).

Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this problem?

I'm running Openbox 3.6 on a Gentoo AMD64 system.
