why the source code? for most docks you don't even have to read the 
manual, they have a gui preferences dialog. the option you're looking 
for is called "autohide".

in any case you have to install it from your distros packet management 
system.
what distro are you using?

edit: sorry, there is indeed a link to the source code, but it's most 
probably totally outdated (openbox 2 ... ).
