Thanks, Dana! You are right: there is such a feature request from 2008, and you did respond to it then, expressing interest, but then I guess you did not have time for this. Here it is, expressing similar ideas, as mentioned above:

Is it possible for you to make the experimental code that you tried available -- someone may pick it up then? Or did you not get to that stage?
