[openbox] xinput stopped working

I've been using .xsession to set up my X stuff:

.xsession:
xset ...
xinput ...
xbindkeys ...
...
exec openbox-session

This worked fine on arch until a recent "upgrade" and now xinput doesn't
work. It seems to run, so I suspect something else is resetting xinput to
defaults later. Any ideas? Should I move the xinput to autostart.sh?

I don't use any kind of desktop or session management.
