[openbox] which linux works the best with pure openbox

I am using crunchbang linux ( http://crunchbanglinux.org/ ) and
out-of-the-box had nitrogen, tint and conky running perfectly. The
author corenominal,
is a genius and is constantly on the crunchbang forums helping people.
Crunchbang Linux is based off of Ubuntu. What was your problem w/ OB +
Ubuntu before with dependencies exactly?
