Forcing reconfigure from command line

Possibly trivial question: is there a way to force reconfigure from the
command-line? I have a number of scripts which rewrite rc.xml, but I seem
to have to right-click->reconfigure to get the change to take effect.  

I suppose I could kill openbox and re-exec it, but that seems to be
overkill (?).
