devilspie and wmctrl

This may not be the right place to ask this, but I have seen frequent
mention of devilspie on this list as a way of manipulating windows every
time they are opened a la sawfish.

Does anyone know if its possible to get devilspie to execute an
arbitrary command on a new window? The most useful example of this that
springs to mind is some form of wmctrl manipulation of a new window.
e.g. use devilspie to pattern match the window when it gets created and
then use wmctl to do something to it.

Thanks for the help.

John
