wmctrl: send to all desktops

how to use wmctrl to send a window to "all desktops" (make it sticky)? 

 $ wmctrl -l   
shows sticky window with desktop id -1, but sending to 
desktop -1 does not work:
 $ wmctrl -r "window" -t -1
toggling the sticky state does not work either:
 $ wmctrl -r "window" -b toggle,sticky

i could not find anything on this in the wmctrl documentation at
http://sweb.cz/tripie/utils/wmctrl/
