what teh other guy said,

your pkg-config (.pc) files will all be installed in the /lib/pkgconfig
of where pkg-config is installed, usually /usr/lib/pkgconfig/

if you install openbox in, say /usr/local/ then it's .pc files will be
installed in /usr/local/lib/pkgconfig/ and pkg-config will not find them.

you can specify this in ./configure i beleive or if you are filthy and
lazy like me syslink all you pkgconfig directories to the one where they
will be found :)

did that make sense?
