Basically, no. They all use the same kernel, so the real OS and all
hardware drivers are the same on every distribution. However, besides
the kernel also dozens of applications and services are installed which
(can) differ among distributions. These running processes could
adversely affect performance. X-windows is a good example of this.
I'd suggest use the distro you're most comfortable with and don't run
unnecessary services.
