ROFL... I was about to ask you how in the hell you got your server to perform and throttled down that low with traffic on that many clients... hehe... I looked one of my charts, and this is a 18 client server...
Max In: 345.1 kb/s (0.3%)
Max Out: 622.4 kb/s (0.6%)
Average In: 243.8 kb/s (0.2%)
Average Out: 418.7 kb/s (0.4%)
Current In: 270.7 kb/s (0.3%)
Current Out: 475.1 kb/s (0.5%)
Then after reading the post earlier that said the kB/s your chart was set to, and then checked my charts at kb/s... I was bummed because I thought you may have found a way to get the darn traffic to not be so much.. hehe

I beg to differ with Matrix. I am running MOH:AA on a Dual PII500 RH8 box
and run 16 users just fine and the max bandwidth I have pushed is 120kb.
See mrtg stats at
http://7th.servebeer.com/localmrtg/localhost_2.html
The box is in a datacenter and has a 100mb connection into their dual oc3's.
Which is a little misleading because they limit my box to 5mb in/out and I
have never come close to using it.
Also please bear in mind that I am running my clans team speak server on the
same box and regular have 7 to 8 users using the 16.4kbit codec.
When CI starts running scans at 18 users I start getting complaints of lag.
This is more a CPU issue than bandwidth. Without CI I can run 20 user games
w/o problems. Once CPU hits +75% users start to complain about lag. I have
new 1ghz cpu's on order that will hopefully take me to 32 player game. Or
at least 28ish..

*Note
Dual CPU's do not offer anything other than the ability to run 2 games on
the same machine.. We play our matches on 1 server and leave the other one
up as open arena.
If you look for the server on Game Spy or with All Seeing ...
It's Name is:
.:Bad Company:. Clan Server Balance+
You can watch its usage and hit the mrtg link above to see realtime
stats....

Guess I should have looked at this email before responding.. LOL.. you
outlined bandwidth requirements better here. :)

You can figure out for yourself...
Matrix said each client needs about 30Kbps. I think that's rather
conservative, and I rather go for 50Kbps per client.
so for 18 players you need somewhere from (18x30) 540Kbps (matrix value)
to (18x60) 900 Kbps (my value) up AND down, and keep a little extra
bandwidth for pings, remote admin etc etc. T1 at 1500Kbps fits nicely
with room to spare, but cable/DSL is pretty much out of the question.
Usually the uplink is the problem.
Eric.
