Thanks a lot for all your help guys. I think we are going to buy a dedicated game server since our spare SPARC will not work. Do y'all recommend a Windows 2000 Server or Pro Platform or Linux Platform? I'm pretty good with Win2k and a little rusty on linux/unix. Will probably be running at least MOHAA, UT, and UT3 dedicated servers. I'm an admin for a cable ISP and we have a full T3 that I'm itching to use up some bandwidth with a gaming server (lol).

It's off topic, but sure you can put Linux/BSD on your sparc. Try http://www.ultralinux.org/. It lists all the availble linux ports and their current status (i.e. still supported or not).
This will still prevent you from running the MOH server though - it is compiled for linux on an i386 processor - it would need to be recompiled on a Sparc processor before it would work and since the source is not open source, that won't happen any time soon. This is the downside of using the sparc box - you would need to get executables specific to the chip or the source and compile it yourself. You can also get many of the open source tools at www.sunfreeware.com. This would include the gcc compilers etc., for Solaris.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask --

Oh well then.
I was afraid of that. It said linux/unix so I wasn't sure. Any other suggestions? Can I put Linux on my SPARC box? That would be sweet. Will any of the other game servers run on Solaris that you know of? Thanks...

Hello-
This isn't working because the MOHAA linux build will only run on Linux (or FreeBSD with Linux emulation) on x86 architecture systems. Sorry!

Hi all,
I'm not very familiar with UNIX so be gentle please.
