It's more practical to put the game type in the cfg file, in case
you have to type in the command line. That way you can also
have several cfg files for different types of games, and need
only to change the name of the config file on the command line.
There are also very nice examples of linux scripts which
start/restart your server @ www.mohadmin.com.

I haven't tried typing  in the commands at console as Ian had
done, but I suppose that it should work as well.

It looks like it's something else that is the problem here.
My best guess is that at least some of the files are corrupted.

It might also be some of the other configuration files, which
are probably created for Win2k, but on my server those
didn't have any apparent effect. If they did, I bet that we
would have been told to get rid of the ones that can cause
troble in linux, right?
