actually in medal of honor i found 3000 is far too low, i dont quite know
why but with a rate of 3000 i have a ping ingame around 150ms and the
server is only 2 hops away from me on my dsl. change my rate to 10000 and
it drops down to 40ms where it should be. but yes in halflife a minimum of
3000 and a max rate of 8000 is fine.
