I am sure it is about the same as my Counter-Strike (the biggest Half-Life
Mod out) so I'll give my 2 cents on this one...I have been a Server Admin
for almost 3 years now and have tested many rates....the ones I found
optimal is 3,000 for MIN and 8,000 for MAX...this is on a T1 or
better....hope that helps!

From what I understand of rate, 2500 - 3000 for modem users, 5000 for
isdn,
8000 - 10000 for cable/dsl and 25000 for lan
My server is set to 10000 and that's what most of my game servers are at...
prevents people from having too high a rate and eating up my bandwidth.
