Hello Phil,

I believe the reason you are getting a server timeout message is because your ping is higher than allowed for new connections in your server configuration file.  There is a server command that specifies this.  For example, consider the following line in your server.cfg file:

sv_maxping 500

If you try to connect to the server with an initial ping higher than the value specified, you will eventually get the server timeout message.  You should be able to see this if you have the following variable set and are watching the server output:

developer 1

The quickest way to see if this is truly causing your problem is to remove this setting and see what happens.  Regarding the way to specify a different server port than 12203, you should be able to add the following arguments on your server command line to set both the IP and port the server will use:

+set net_IP 216.42.80.176 +set net_port 12204  (change the IP and port to the proper settings for your server)

  Forgive if this as been asked a million asked a million times already, but what would cause me to get server timeout even tho my server shows on the list, i set the linux server as per instructions, with a clean install of 1.1.1 and fully uploaded the files.
