The 'ports' tree. A list of software that has been 'port'ed to work under
FreeBSD, and in order to install this software, you just type 'make',
'make install'. Done. It will go, download it for you, apply necessary
patches, compile, and install itself. Need to upgrade the port later?
Just use portupgrade. Will do it all for you.

Pretty much. FreeBSD has very good Linux emulation.
