Remi,
I have a branch where I did a openles port of the original source dump, if your interested I could create some up to date branch based on your version (for later merge)

 Hi there,

Some good news to share from the OSS Lugaru project (see our new
homepage [0] and my previous email about it too [1]).

## Lugaru is now 100% free/libre, including the assets

You likely know already that Lugaru's source is distributed under the
GPLv2+, and that the game assets were partly CC-BY-SA 3.0, and partly
proprietary (albeit with a tacit agreement to redistribute them with
open source versions).

After some discussions, David agreed to relicense the assets so that
they are all under CC-BY-SA 3.0 [2], thus making Lugaru 100%
free/libre (also DFSG-compliant, etc.).

## SDL2 port

Côme (MCMic) has integrated SDL2 into the OSS Lugaru code base [3]
(based off Ryan's patch but adapted for the code that had changed
quite a bit, and he used scancodes for input).

He also fixed and simplified the handling of display resolutions, it's
now working pretty well.

## Linux and Windows binaries

We have CI setup for GCC and Clang for Linux binaries, and MinGW 32
and 64 for Windows binaries (cross-compiled from Linux).

The latest build artifacts can be downloaded from the homepage [0],
they should work out of the box (provided you have the shared
libraries installed on Linux - for Windows the DLLs are bundled).

Next steps for compiler supports will be MSVC and Xcode - help welcome
if you're familiar with those platforms!

## Official release

We plan to have an official release soonish. I just want to coordinate
it with David so that it can potentially be released at the same time
as the upcoming Lugaru campaign on Overgrowth.

Cheers,
Rémi / Akien
