...and it doesn't work. I can get it to install a file in the my .gnome 
directory, but it never shows up anywhere.

I'm just leaving menu installation disabled. This crap has been broken 
for almost a decade now, I guess it was wishful thinking to assume it 
wouldn't be.

If you have any better luck, I'd love to hear about it.
