Been there, tried it, failed miserably. Couldn't easily contact the
author :-/
I also don't particularly like j2's way of doing things, but I guess
it may just be a matter of personal taste.
Before xmas, I'd been discussing this stuff with a guy called Aidan
Burns, and I particularly liked his stuff:

Which is basically take a known good pattern, and permute it.
I started to implement this stuff several months ago, but never got
very far :-/
