Summary: vertex mode restrictions prevent creating valid shapes
           Product: GtkRadiant
           Version: 1.5
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Windows XP
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: editor
        AssignedTo: gtkradiant at zerowing.idsoftware.com
        ReportedBy: narc at modsonline.com

QuakeEd4 and all iterations of radiant that followed after it have always had
this most annoying bug. vertex mode will prevent the user from making concave
geometry on the fly. radiant will mangle your geometry in order to constantly
maintain a valid shape. more often than not you will have to move your points
through invalid positions to get to valid shapes, but it prevents this by one of
3 ways: subdiving faces, moving points that you had already placed, or by
blocking your movement of the currently selected point. -- to remedy the problem
you could perform these checks for invalid geometry after exiting vertex mode
instead of on the fly. or otherwise just allow to disable or remove the buggy
feature. numbered brushes and verbose compiler output make tracking brush errors
down a snap, unlike the old days where you had to delete half the map just to
find the general area of a bad brush.
