This is an enhancement idea.

A feature that I would like to see is something that would 
allow you to mark a brush (or patch mesh, etc) as Fixed.  The idea here being 
that a Fixed Brush, Mesh or Entity can not be Selected (in the normal/standard 
way) and be accidently altered.
 
I know about the Region Feature, and that really helps to prevent the 
accidental cuts/moves of other brushes, but a Fix/Unfix Feature would be 
handy.  Just a thought.  I'm probably not the first to come up with this idea.
