Update: I've just noticed that game selection in the project settings doesn't 
seem to be working properly:

In Project settings dialog, changing to "Return to Castle Wolfenstien" option 
and then restarting keeps showing the "Quake III Arena" option, even though 
the base path is set correctly for RTCW and RTCW is selected from the intitial 
startup game selection dialog.

Changing to the "Custom RTCW modification" selection and entering the fs_game 
name for the mod and restarting also results selection returning to 
the "Custom Quake III modification" setting, but the fs_game entry is still 
set correctly.

I don't know if this is related to the bug I am having or not
