i have attached the diff created by wincvs with the latest source and my own 
patched source in a plain .txt. 

the patch adds the feature to store camera positions and view angles so they 
can be jumped to at any time. a file is created whenever the current map is 
saved which stores all the current data created by the feature to be be 
(automatically) loaded when the map is next loaded.

i also included a file containing premade locations for the q3m7 sample map, 
put it in the /baseq3/maps folder and it will be loaded when the sample map is 
loaded.

not tested on linux.
