None that i am aware of.
Basically it is enough to link the vp file over, e.g.
root_fs2.vp -> /dosd/Freespace2/root_fs2.vp

etc.

For HiRes put somwething like

[Default]
Videocard=OpenGL (1024x768)
Fullscreen=1

into the FreeSpace2.ini file.
