I did that too, and now the thing really starts. But all the textures are fucked-up, everything is in grey-white; and the fonts are unreadable. Looks quite strange, actually. Sorry I just joined today :) I really love the game, but can't seem to find or join any master servers...(with firewall turned off. I have US Retail, on Mandrake 9.1, G4, Latest NVidia drivers.). - Cheers From acnrvi at tin.it Tue Sep 2 15:31:44 2003 From: acnrvi at tin.it (^(o,o)^ Turk2000) Date: Tue, 2 Sep 2003 15:31:44 -0400 (EDT) Subject: [devastation] Europe retail version? Whole System dir has to be replaced (infact, I think the ini files of my italian distro gave problems). Sorry for this poor english. Turk. Now I overwrote the Texture and Sounds directory with the original ones from the CD (actually, the patched ones from a windows-install; that's why it took me weeks -- to get hands on a windows: I have none, and where I work neither), and now it works. Sometimes it crashes for no apparent reason, but in the whole, its playable. In the levels SP1M1-UrbiaSouth and SP2M1-MarketMadness on accessing the Master Communication Panel (That red thing, in SP1M1 right at the beginning, to the left.): Assertion failed: fMovie [File:UnMovie.cpp] [Line: 62] The relevant parts of the log don't say anything more specific than this, strace neither. I'd be glad if someone could give me confirmation that this error is reproduceable. (And something completely different: The MOHAA-beta has run out -- it thinks its 30 days are over. Hope this doesn't happen to Devastation too). Peter -- Those who give up essential liberties for temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety. -- Benjamin Franklin
