But do have a question: is there no way to have a common
structure (shared memory? dbus? ice?) to do the
counting/banning?<br>

Personally I'm having better results with iptables because I can
be way stricter (2hit/sec but shared among dozen servers...
instead of 12hit /server each per box)...<br>
If there was a way to have a "global" banlist I think the
results would be even better :D</font></font>
