Server is on our own dedi, Network traffic is fine. nothing
unusual going in or out (100-200k up/down with four players on the server) . And
CPU usage is normal as well.

Another problem (although much less serious)
is that on restarting the server, it doesnt load the config. First player in has
to restart the map to get it to read the config and apply all settings. Any
ideas?

class=gmail_quote>How is the cod server set up ? Is it a rent server at a GSP,
or did you set up yourself on a dedicated machine ? In any case, try to look
at the network state, and, if it's on a dedicated, be carefull that another
app is not eating the CPU resource and/or network.

Martin H a écrit

Ok, this is really odd. Our CoD server is playing up. For some
reason, a lot of players have started timing out while connecting. And
theres a lot of people (myself included) suffering from weird lag spikes,
and magic bullets.

The game will be fine one minute, but then
suddenly bullets will 'disappear' and not hit anything/one, and pings will
spike all over the place. It has recently become more constant to the point
that it can be unplayable at times. When using cg_drawlagometer 1 the green
bar maxes out for ½second with a couple of red bars then all returns to
semi-normal. the bar is constantly bumping up and down, far more than on any
other server i've played on. Its almost like clientside lag, but it happens
for everybody at exactly the same time..

Server doesnt appear to be
doing anything unatural during play. Its running Cent os 5. Server runs as
its own user, and is completely unmodded. running
