I do some hosting for local LAN party's, 15-50 peeps 1-2 times a month. I don't bother with running PB since it is too easy to bust someone in the head if they thought they could get away with hacking/cheating. With the server running with sv_LAN 1 it still reports communication with the master servers in the console.<BR>

I wasn't sure if this was just the way it was and had to live with it or a bug that hasnt really been reported since the percentage of the servers running are internet servers...<BR>

I would have to go launch CoD2 and see if it did it as well.. I don't remember seeing it do it.<BR>

The one that allways has scratching my head is the valve/steam lineup.... -nomaster in the commandline does shut down master server lookups... but if you run it on a LAN with no internet connection the servers are slow too respond and laggy as hell. It might not be reporting anything in the console but it sure as hell likes to have internet access.<BR>
