The strange thing is that I remember getting a normal GUID on my server
some time ago.<br>
I started noticing this behaviour a couple of weeks ago. (don't know
when it started going wrong though)<br>

<p>I believe there is a fall back that if you are on the same /24
subnet (255.255.255.0) it will also not key authenticate.</p>

server, to get a GUID. Any private IP addresses are just allowed into
the server without key authentication, which is where the GUID comes
from.
