I noticed that just adding the following line to /etc/hosts would cause cd keys not to be checked:

127.0.0.1 codauthorize.activision.com coduoauthorize.activision.com

It's technically not cracking, it's just... blocking some traffic. :) But keep in mind that servers that don't check cd keys won't show in the in-game server list either, so people will have to join it manually. So it's not that more useful than using a VPN to do LAN games.
