it's always a good idea to to forward the ports aswell even if you have the
ip outside of the firewall i'd suggest forwarding the ports to the ip also 
and
open the ports in the local firewall on the host machine.

oops forgot. Yes I have 1 - port forwarded. I also have the server outside
of the router firewall. I think it was called DMZ. So I really don't need to
forward any ports. It is wide open.

A few questions
-Are you forwarding any ports to the server?
-What does the command line look like for the server?
- Can anyone other then yourself on a different network, connect to said
server?
