  No, it does not. With any uncracked version it checks for key. If you're running cracked client, you still can't join normal servers, you can only join cracked ones. If PB is enabled it automatically scans IW3MP file, and if there is any change - will automatically kick from server.

    Curious does the 1.2 server, even with PB enabled, allow for cracked clients? The reason I ask is because I wonder everyone  does not upgrade to the latest version -- keeping it simple.

        If memory serves me correct, 1.2 was a client patch only.

            It's also done with 1.7 -- as far as I know. Last time I played cod4, it was at a lan party for a charity event, and it was a windows server (little buggy, crashing time to time).

            But with all the bugs sorted out just for client side in the 1.7 patch series, it should be worth considering it (not to mention the 1.6 patch that contain additional maps).
