[cod] hotfix

I think your misunderstanding. Most of the grief being given about the Linux
Bin and these delays are aimed squarely at Treyarch and Activision as we all
know Ryan can't do squat till they give him the source code and once he's
done he can't even tell us he's done.

1.3 Hotfix, for all we know could be sitting in Activisions hands and they
could have decided "Lets mess with the Linux guys and make them wait."

CoD isn't the only game they support. He also has a life... I am sure when
he took on these projects, it wasn't with the intention of sitting a
computer 23hrs a day either. If it wasn't for him, we might not even have
Linux version available. You do tend to get more with sweet honey then sour
milk. Would you be motivated to do something when everyone simply complains?
I also do programming and I put the gracious people ahead of the others. I
do tend to hold out on the whiners. I am not saying he is doing it, but it
isn't motivating him either.

As a note, it is always better to start and finish on a good note. People
tend to remember the beginning and end more then the middle. As a rule, it
is always best not to be negative at all, focus on the positives and let the
reader know your needs.

"Ryan must really be busy or he would have resolved this already. Perhaps
he needs a tester or some debugging reports.... A bit sad it takes..... He
does a great job, I would assume the issues are with EA, hopefully he can
get them resolved...."

Has anyone offered to be part of the solution? How can we help you fix
this? What can we do to make your job easier....

A quote: "If you are not part of the solution, then you are part of the
problem."

I am quite surprised he doesn't moderate these lists. If it were me, half
would have been filtered out and the posts removed for unprofessional
conduct / language.

Good luck...

Soon can be interpreted as never or a long time. I suggest to hotfix it just
one day in before releasing 1.4 patch for waw (I'll rember hotfix @ 1.2 L)

A bit sad it takes Treyarch to fix all things that were already fixed in
CoD4 (it just looks like the same issues again anyway)

Still Ryan did a great job, he must be hold back by the rules of EA about
releasing things, even JD aint talking about releasing date or any estimated
releases of any patches.
